Day 1B Comes to an End, 25 Players Remain: $8,800 up for grabs!
A Massive Tournament for our $6,000 Guarantee! The Guarantee was exceeded by $2,800! Both days had some huge swings between multiple players. At one point Eric Withrow was down to nothing and ended chip leader of Day 1A. Day 1B rolls in and Jon Maher started with momentum and never slowed. His Tournament Changed when he Picked up AA vs Sam Hamilton’s J8cc that saw an 8 high board with two clubs. Lucky for Jon Maher his Aces Held for a 180,000 Chip Pot Vaulting him into the chip lead which he never gave up.
We Asked Jon Maher how he felt going into day 2.

We Pulled Kenny McFarland (202,100) to the side and asked him how he felt about tomorrow, his current position and the prize pool. Kenny’s Tournament took a massive turn for the best when his 22 Out Ran Jon Maher’s AJ on an ace high board. Perfect perfect came the turn and river to give Kenny a Straight for 90,000 Chips and momentum never stopped as he ended day 1 with over 200,000!
You Just never know…. The Prize pool is huge ! It is really nice we have a game I don’t have to go clear to cleveland or columbus for. All I want is to finish in the money, anything above that is all gravy!
I never would of pictured myself being in the position im in. I have a lot to learn about poker still, I struggle with pot odds and making reads at the table. But I know playing against the better players at the gemini has helped my game get better.
The Highlight of my tournament was taking out one of the best players in the field, Mark Wentz. It let me know my game is getting better and I’m surviving with even the best players at the gemini.
